Hello from Truly Amber!
TRULYAMBER.COM IS NOW LIVE!
If you've been to my blog in the past, you might notice a few changes around here. First of all, total new look. Looks amazing, right?! Thanks to the amazing design genius and my dear friend, Lindsey Pruitt! Check her out if you need anything designed or just need some inspo!
You might also notice that MsCentsible is no longer around these parts. Here's why I changed my name.
I wanted to be called TRULY AMBER for a number of reasons.
Most importantly, I want to be true in everything that I say and do. Philippians 4:8 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. Here's what it says. "Finally my brothers and sisters, whatever is TRUE, whatever is NOBLE, whatever is RIGHT, whatever is PURE, whatever is LOVELY, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."
I want to encompass all of those things. I don't want to be so quick to find the faults in circumstances or people. I want to find anything that is excellent or praiseworthy - and only focus on those things.
Also, I feel like when I started my blog a few years ago, I was all about ballin' on a budget. I wanted to talk about my thrifted finds and cheap treasures. But as I started learning about where my clothes came from, I realized I can't keep giving Target all of my dollars. Granted, I still give Mr. Target a hefty sum each year. But I don't really leave Target with a $4 dress anymore. Because that cheap dress could have been made by a woman in a unsafe factory who didn't get a fair wage. It's not worth it to me. So I now buy $20 shirts - but they were made by people who work in a safe place and who are treated right. I'm not saying that I won't ever buy another piece of clothing from Target again, I'm just saying that I'm more aware now and I'm trying to make better and ethical decisions.
Also, I want to be true in what I post. I want my content to be authentic. I want to be authentic. I don't want to post something that I don't love just to put something out there. The word Truly describes everything that I strive to be.
I feel like Truly Amber describes me better than MsCentisble did. I feel like I can be more well rounded in what I post - because I'm staying true to myself. MsCentsible was more beauty focused only. But Truly Amber gives me the freedom to post about my life, my home, my husband or my travels! The world is my oyster! I never understood that saying but you get what I mean.
I hope you go have a look around! I am so in love with how everything looks!
